The Reverend Phelps Project
Why protest against Phelps when you can join in with the fun instead?

Leif Harmsen

I made a dozen or so "GOD HATES" bible quote protest signs so I could share them with my fellow Torontonians so we could join in the fun when the Reverend Phelps (of "GOD HATES FAGS" infamy) and his Westboro Baptist Church congregation came to visit from Kansas.   They were scheduled to arrive at the Cameron House in order to protest against its satirical sold-out show "The Reverend Phelps Project".  My mother helped me tab through the book of Leviticus to figure out what all God hates exactly.   According to the bible He hates an endless laundry list that includes mixed fabrics, pigeons and yes, even turtles.  Pigeons I can understand, but what's not to like about turtles?  Unfortunately the party was short lived because Phelps and his faithful bus-load never appeared; they had been turned away at the boarder for being "undesirable".
